Koh Tao or also known as Turtle Island is located in the Gulf of Thailand some 600 km /375 miles/ South of Bangkok. Koh Tao is administratively part of Surat Thani province. The island of Tao lies some 70 km far out at sea between the provinces of Suratthani and Chumphon. Once Koh Tao had the functions of fishermen shelter and pirate’s hideout. But nowadays Koh Tao is a premier diving location, ranked on the second place in PADI certificate /world diving association/.

Having more than 100,000 visitors each year Koh Tao is a must-go destination not only for divers but also people looking for calmer place simply to relax with its gorgeous beaches and great viewpoints.
