Ubon Ratchathani
Ubon Ratchathani province covers a total area of 15,750 square km /6150 square miles/ and located about 630 km /390 miles/ Northeast of Bangkok. The biggest river passing through the province of Ubon Ratchathani is Mun river. This is the place where Thailand, Laos and Cambodia meet together and the region is more popular as Emerald Triangle – the largest natural monsoon forests in Thailand.
The lands of the province were once part of the Khmer Empire. Although the province of Ubon Ratchathani is relatively unknown to the tourists it offers some scenic splendours and natural wonders, cultural and historical sites, farming villages, silk shops, national parks for hiking and camping and is a good destination for outgoing among the nature.
