Trat
Trat is a small province located in the Easternmost part of Thailand and bordering Cambodia and Gulf of Thailand. It is 315 km /200 miles/ away from Bangkok and covers an area of 2,800 square km /1,100 square miles/. The province of Trat is a popular tourist destination mainly because of the island of Koh Chang – the second largest in Thailand - which is a part of the Mu Koh Chang Marine National Park together with other 50 smaller islands.
b>Trat is best known for its beaches and unspoiled coral reefs, Trat offers delightful scenery and a tranquil hideout for nature-lovers. Another tourist attraction is shopping and particularly gemstone trading as Trat has a rich gem trade with bordering Cambodia. Trat has more markets for its size than almost any other town in Thailand and this is like the biggest province’s attraction apart from relaxation on the beach.
