Chonburi
Chonburi province is located about 100 km /60 miles/ South of Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand. It is actually one of the closest resort-provinces to Bangkok. The capital city of the province is also called Chonburi with population of 250,000. The name means “City of Water.”
As it takes a two hours drive from Bangkok, Chonburi province is not only a major weekend retreat for Bangkokians but a world-known resort with Pattaya litterally proving everything for a holiday and located a stone-throw away from Bangkok. Another resorts in the province of Chonburi are Si Racha and Koh Si Chiang. Major attractions in the province are Million Years Stone Park, Crocodile Farm and Kon Lan Island or the Coral Island in Pattaya, Si Racha Tiger Farm, Scorpion Farm.
